MRD Hosts skate schools throughout the year to teach people how to roller skate and learn the basics of roller debry!
Be on the lookout for updates on when, where, and how to register on our social media or under the get involved page on our site. Lastly, check out YouTube to learn some basics on how to skate like a derby player.

We accept new transfers in a case-by-case basis. Please send us an email at training@memphisrollerderby.com so we can know you are interested and can set up your assessment.

About Roller Derby
Memphis Roller Derby plays flat-track roller derby according to the latest rules from the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).
Roller derby is played with two teams - consisting of five skaters each - on a flat, oval track. Each team nominates one skater to be the point-scorer (Jammer), who earns one point for each opposing skater that they lap.
The remaining skaters (Blockers) try to clear a path for their Jammer while blocking the opposing jammer from passing them. It’s fast-paced and chaotic!
