Maybe they'd want some brand-new roller skates?

For the months of November and December, MRD has adopted 20 children from the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program. Each team in the league will buy Christmas gifts for five children. MRD knows each child's first name, their clothing sizes, and a few items they've asked Santa for.

During the month of February, MRD will also be organizing a Love-In Skate-a-Thon. Each team will choose a charity of their choice to support for this event. Each skater who participates will ask friends, families, and fans to sponsor them by pledging a certain amount of money for each lap the skater completes in the Skate-a-Thon. When the skater simply cannot skate another lap, it's time to pay up! Every penny made during this event will go to charity.

During late spring or early summer 2007, we hope to hold MRD's first annual Lyn-da-Licious 5K Run to raise money for breast cancer awareness. We will be working on those details during the MRD-break before the first full bouting season begins in March. Check back here for more details.
