WMDs were never discovered in Iraq. But the Women of Mass Destruction found themselves June 16th at the Collierville FunQuest.

Following a blowout loss last month at the hands of the Angels of Death, the WMDs rebounded against the Legion of Zoom, winning a hard-fought bout by a score of 95-70. Against the AODs, the WMDs scored 12 points the entire match. Against the Zoom, the women in camo had 12 points in the first three minutes alone and didn't stop there. The biggest difference? Bloody Elle.

The former blocker for the PrissKilla Prezleys, traded to the WMDs since the last bout, put a bruising on the jammers of the Legion of Zoom. She fit in well alongside fellow WMD enforcer Sandstorm, who appeared to knock down every Z-Girl at least a few times. Meanwhile, the WMDs' slate of jammers, including the Ragin' Caucasian, Demi Automatic and Akilles Wheel, got through the Zoom's defenders with ease.

The Z-Girls were without their main enforcer, Envie, hurt in the recent travel team bout. And speedster Machine Gun Kelly spent much of the evening bent over a trash can, battling a stomach bug.

After a slow start, the Legion of Zoom made a comeback in the first period to close to within one point at the intermission. But the WMDs put enough points on the board in the second 20-minute period to win comfortably. "We came in and did our job," said The Unibobber, coach of the WMDs. The WMDs improved to 2-2 and moved into a tie with the Legion of Zoom, also 2-2, for second place in the league. For Bloody Elle, it was her first Memphis Roller Derby win. "I love it. I've been really happy with my team," she said.

Her old teammates on the PrissKilla Prezleys did not fare so well. In the second bout of the June 16th doubleheader, the Angels of Death continued their dominance of MRD's inaugural season. They beat the PKPs, 108-26, to remain undefeated at 4-0.

Top jammer Lil' Cinner got plenty of help from fellow jammers Memphomaniac, Gwen Reaper and the much improved Wheelie Wonka, along with the AODs' strong line of defenders. The PKPs got strong performances from Bella Trixx, Dirty Constance and Nikki Cave, but fell to 0-4. And their frustration was apparent.

Two PKPs, Rattleskate and Lil' Bo Peep Show, got into a pair of scuffles and were ejected, along with Cat Claus of the AODs.

The PKPs will be looking for their first win of the season against their former teammate, Bloody Elle, on July 7.
